"To create an accessible space where people can work together to exercise their responsibility in solving the problems of their communities and the world"
"Our mission is to enable people who are otherwise unable to find the time, money, resources or motivation to make positive change for the better of society and our environment. We will do this by hosting an innovative platform that is always adapting to user needs and working to improve user accessibility."

For many years now, I have been in contact with two good friends by the names of Fanel Leme and Sadrac Guerrier in the beautiful country of Haiti. Together, we have worked on a number of projects - ranging from no-interest loan programs, farming and land management initiatives, infrastructure development and, lastly, emergency aid for families of students unable to afford both schooling and sustenance as shown above.
This last project was incredibly special to me because it demonstrated the ability for only 6 ordinary people to support an entire school lunch program over 45 days. I went on social media, talked to friends and family and, with only 6 donors, we managed to raise $1500CAD for this program. Changing the world goes beyond that which is monetary, however. There is so much more that we can do beyond making blind-trust donations in the hopes our money will go further than we can ourselves. Goodwill and generosity are within us all, and I can't wait to further tap into that potential with Communiivate!
#1. Integration of a chatroom reply system for user comments. This is expected to improve engagement by promoting discussion on topics that matter.
#2. Have the option to receive more refined notifications about the issues you care about.
#3: A mentorship portal where users can connect with (and seek advice from) experienced professionals for user initiatives. Users may also identify themselves as a professional in a relevant field to assist the Communiivate community and find contacts along the way.
#4. The option to create, share and interact with surveys within Communiivate.
#5: In-app links to other user social media accounts.
#6: Suggest connections by location/proximity.
#1: General in-app content searching.
Due to the limitations of implementing a NoSQL database, Communiivate is only able to search via case-sensitive, near-exact-match queries (typos not recommended). Communiivate is certainly no search engine, and will be limited in this way until I have time to integrate an add-on called Elasticsearch.
#2: IOS-Only Initial Launch Limitations
In order to get to release as soon as possible for Communiivate IOS, some convenience features have been left out until further notice. Namely, notifications do not have any specified controls. Communiivate push notifications do not open specific features of the application and instead only launch the application when tapped. Additionally, multiple users to a given device will receive indiscriminate notifications until a user signs in using a different device. These features and more will be updated to match the Android standard as soon as possible.
I don't plan on ever turning any real profit with Communiivate. Though idealistic, I hope to make Communiivate an example of how it is possible to achieve success outside the bounds of standard business practice. Impossible? We'll see.
My name is Michael Plischke, I am 24 years old, and I currently live in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada. Experience with industry, societal injustice and, most importantly, societal inaction, made me ask myself just what I thought I was doing with my life. From nearly 4 grueling years of undergraduate engineering classes I earned incredible resolve - resolve that I decided would be best utilized making real change...and I had an idea. That idea was to make an app for people like me; people who, at one or more points in their lives, have felt helpless in changing the world around them. An application for people who desire the time, money, resources or motivation to make changes for the better of society and our environment.
I pushed myself to eventually master Java/Android and Swift/IOS programming with over 5000 hours of soul-crushing work. I lived entirely off savings that I’d rationed and continued to ration, all earned from a multitude of jobs I've worked over the years. I tried finding financial (and volunteer) support with no success. I don’t see value in money beyond what it can get you, and money isn’t what I’m doing this for, so I pushed ahead anyways. I’m doing this because it has become abundantly clear that without major reforms in the ways our society operates, we will soon reach points of no return. Corruption, tyranny and misinformation have spread like wildfire in political processes. Wildfire has also spread like wildfire. If the working class members of our society continue to let a small, wealthy minority of people make all humanity’s major decisions, our species and planet will accelerate to a state of mass extinction before we can unlock humanity's true potential. These are my beliefs, and if they happen to be your beliefs as well, you're in the right place.
Long story short, I’m a man of my word, of action, and of dedication. I will make the ability to contribute to making positive change a reality for everyone - no matter what hurdles I face. I promise this, because if no one succeeds in this task, there won’t be much of a world left to save.
